Using Trusted Devices to Unlock Your Phone

- 1. Swipe down from the top of the screen with two fingers
- 2. Tap the Settings icon
- 3. Scroll down and tap SecurityIf you already have an unlock method set up, you can skip to step 10
- 4. Tap Screen Lock
- 5. Tap your desired lock method. In this example, we will select PIN
- 6. If you would like a PIN to be required when you turn your phone on, tap Require PIN to start device
- 7. Tap Continue
- 8. Enter a PIN and then tap Continue
- 9. Re-enter your PIN and then tap OK
- 10. Select what notifications you would like displayed on the lock screen. In this example, we will select Don’t show notifications at all
- 11. Tap Done
- 12. Tap Smart Lock
- 13. Enter your PIN and then tap Next
- 14. Tap Got It
- 15. Tap Trusted Devices
- 16. Tap Add Trusted Device
- 17. Select whether you would like to use a Bluetooth or NFC device. In this example, we will select Bluetooth
- 18. Tap the device you wish to useIn order to choose a device, Bluetooth must be turned on and connected to the device you wish to use
- 19. Tap Yes, Add
- 20. The phone will remain unlocked as long as it remains connected to the device
- 21. If you would like to manually lock the phone, press the Power/Lock Key
- 22. Tap the Lock icon
- 23. To unlock the phone, press the Power/Lock Key again
- 24. Swipe the screen in any direction
- 25. Enter your PIN and then tap the check mark
