  • Once you have added a trusted place, you can choose for your tablet to remain unlocked as long as you are within 80m of that location

    Swipe down from the top of the screen

  • 2.

    Tap the Settings icon

  • 3.

    Tap Lock Screen

    If you already have a lock code set up, you can skip to step 9

  • 4.

    Tap Screen Lock Type

  • 5.

    Tap the type of screen lock you would like to use. In this example, we will select PIN

  • 6.

    Enter a PIN and then tap Continue. The PIN must be between 4 and 16 digits

  • 7.

    Re-enter the PIN and then tap OK. This must match the PIN entered in the previous step

    Select your lock screen notification preferences and then tap Done

  • 9.

    Tap Smart Lock

  • 10.

    Enter your PIN and then tap Continue

    Tap Got It

  • 12.

    Tap Trusted Places

  • 13.

    To set a saved location as a trusted place, tap on it. Your home and work locations will be determined by your settings in Google Maps

    Tap Turn On This Location

  • 15.

    Tap OK

  • 16.

    To add a new location, tap Add Trusted Place

  • 17.

    If you would like to add your current location as a trusted place, tap Select This Location

    Tap Select

  • 19.

    Enter a name for the trusted place and then tap OK

  • 20.

    Your tablet will remain unlocked as long as you are within 80m of that location

  • 21.

    To manually lock the tablet, press the Power/Lock Key

  • 22.

    Press the Power/Lock Key again

  • 23.

    Tap the Lock icon

  • 24.

    To unlock the tablet, press the Power/Lock Key

  • 25.

    Swipe the screen upwards

  • 26.

    Enter your PIN and then tap OK
