  • The iris scanner is used to unlock the phone and to confirm your identity in certain apps or features. In some instances your irises cannot be used so you must also set up a PIN, password or pattern

    Swipe down from the top of the screen

    Tap the Settings icon

  • 3.

    Tap Biometrics and Security

  • 4.

    Tap Iris Scanner

  • 5.

    Tap Continue

  • 6.

    Select a secure screen lock type. In this example, we will select PIN

    If you have already created a secure lock type, you can skip to step 9

  • 7.

    Enter a PIN and then tap Continue. The PIN must be between 4 and 16 digits

  • 8.

    Re-enter the PIN and then tap OK. This must match the PIN entered in the previous step

    Tap Next

  • 10.

    Tap OK

  • 11.

    Tap Continue

  • 12.

    Hold the phone in front of your face about 25cm away and position your eyes in the two circles and keep still until your irises have been registered. If you are wearing glasses, the iris scanner works best if you remove them

  • 13.

    Swipe left to view the tutorial

  • 14.

    When you have reached the end of the tutorial, tap OK

  • 15.

    To unlock the phone, press the Power/Lock Key

  • 16.

    Swipe the screen upwards

  • 17.

    Hold the phone in front of your face and wait for it to unlock
