  • 1. Swipe down from the top of the screen with two fingers
  • 2. Tap the Settings icon
  • 3. Scroll down and tap Security
    If you already have an unlock method set up, you can skip to step 10
  • 4. Tap Screen Lock
  • 5. Tap the type of unlock method you would like to use. In this example, we will select PIN
  • 6. Enter a PIN and then tap Continue
  • 7. Re-enter the PIN and then tap OK
  • 8. Select your preference for displaying notifications while the phone is locked. In this example, we will select Don't show notifications at all
  • 9. Tap Done
  • 10. Tap Smart Lock
  • 11. Enter your PIN and then tap Next
  • 12. Tap Trusted Places
  • 13. Tap OK
  • 14. Tap the location you wish to set as a trusted location. The Home and Work locations will be determined by Google Maps.
  • 15. Tap Turn on this location
  • 16. To add a trusted location, tap Add Trusted Place
  • 17. Tap the Search icon
  • 18. Enter the address you wish to add and then tap the Search icon
  • 19. Tap the address to set it as a trusted location
  • 20. Tap OK
  • 21. As long as the phone remains within 80 metres of a trusted location, it will remain unlocked
  • 22. To manually lock your phone, press the Power/Lock Key
  • 23. Press the Power/Lock Key again
  • 24. Tap the Lock icon
  • 25. Once you have locked the phone, to unlock it again, press the Power/Lock Key
  • 26. Swipe the lock upwards
  • 27. Enter your PIN and then tap the check mark
