Using Trusted Places To Unlock The Phone

- Trusted places allows the phone to remain unlocked as long as it is in a trusted location
- 1. Swipe down from the top of the screen with two fingers
- 2. Tap the Settings icon
- 3. Scroll down and tap SecurityIf you already have a screen lock set up, you can skip to step 12
- 4. Tap Screen Lock
- 5. Tap your desired unlock method. In this example we will select PIN
- 6. If you would like a PIN to be required to when the phone is turned on, make sure Require PIN to start device is selected. Otherwise tap No thanks
- 7. Tap Continue
- 8. Enter a PIN and then tap Continue
- 9. Confirm your PIN and then tap OK
- 10. Select whether you would like notifications displayed when your phone is locked. In this example, we will select Don't show notifications at all
- 11. Tap Done
- 12. Tap Smart Lock
- 13. Enter your PIN and then tap Next
- 14. Tap Trusted Places
- 15. You can select in which locations you would like the phone to remain unlocked. The Home and Work locations will be determined by Google Maps. Tap the status switch beside Home and/or Work to set that location as a trusted place
- 16. Tap OK
- 17. To set a different location as a trusted place, tap Add Trusted Place
- 18. Tap Search
- 19. Enter the address you would like to use and then tap the Search icon
- 20. Tap the address at the bottom of the screen to set it as a trusted location
- 21. Tap OK
- 22. As long as you are within 80 metres of the set locations, your phone will remain unlocked
- 23. To manually lock the phone, press the Power/Lock Key
- 24. Press the Power/Lock Key again
- 25. Tap the Lock icon
- 26. Once you have locked the phone, to unlock it, press the Power/Lock Key
- 27. Drag the lock icon upwards
- 28. Enter your PIN and then tap the check mark.
