Using Trusted Devices To Unlock The Phone

- Trusted devices allows the phone to remain unlocked as long as it is connected to a trusted Bluetooth or NFC device
- 1. Swipe down from the top of the screen with two fingers
- 2. Tap the Settings icon
- 3. Scroll down and tap Security
- 4. Tap Screen Lock
- 5. Tap your desired unlock method. In this example we will select PIN
- 6. If you would like a PIN to be required to when the phone is turned on, make sure Require PIN to start device is selected. Otherwise tap No thanks
- 7. Tap Continue
- 8. Enter a PIN and then tap Continue
- 9. Confirm your PIN and then tap OK
- 10. Select whether you would like notifications displayed when your phone is locked. In this example, we will select Don't show notifications at all
- 11. Tap Done
- 12. Tap Smart Lock
- 13. Enter your PIN and then tap Next
- 14. You can choose for your phone to unlock when it is connected to trusted Bluetooth devices. Or if it detects a trusted face. In this example, we will select Trusted Devices
- 15. Tap the Add Trusted Device icon
- 16. Tap BluetoothBluetooth must be turned on in order to use smart lock
- 17. Tap the device you wish to connect to
- 18. As long as your device remains connected to the Bluetooth device, it will stay unlocked
- 19. If you wish to lock the phone, press the Power/Lock Key
- 20. Tap the Lock icon
- 21. To unlock the phone, swipe the Lock icon upwards
- 22. Enter your PIN and then tap the check mark
