  • 1. Swipe down from the top of the screen
  • 2. Tap the Settings icon
  • 3. Tap Lock Screen and Security
  • 4. Tap Screen Lock Type
  • 5. Select your unlock method. In this example, we will select PIN
  • 6. Enter a PIN and then tap Continue
  • 7. Re-enter the PIN and then tap OK
  • 8. Select your lock screen notification preferences and then tap Done
  • 9.

    Tap Smart Lock

  • 10.

    Enter your PIN and then tap Next

  • 11.

    Tap Understood

  • 12.

    Tap Trusted Places

  • 13.

    Tap the location you wish to set as a trusted location. The Home and Work locations will be determined by Google Maps.

    Tap Turn on this location

  • 15.

    Tap OK

  • 16.

    To add a trusted location, tap Add Trusted Place

  • 17.

    Tap the Search icon

  • 18.

    Enter the address you wish to add and then tap the Search icon

  • 19.

    Tap the address to set it as a trusted location

  • 20.

    Tap OK

  • 21.

    As long as the phone remains within 80 metres of a trusted location, it will remain unlocked

  • 22.

    To manually lock the phone, press the Power/Lock Key

  • 23.

    Tap the Lock icon

  • 24.

    To unlock the phone, press the Power/Lock Key

  • 25.

    Swipe the screen in any direction

  • 26.

    Enter your PIN and then tap OK
