Using Trusted Devices to Unlock Your Phone

- 1. Swipe down from the top of the screen
- 2. Tap the Settings icon
- 3. Tap Lock Screen and Security
- 4. Tap Screen Lock TypeIf you have already set up a PIN, you can skip to step 11
- 5. Tap PIN
- 6. Enter a PIN and then tap Continue
- 7. Re-enter the PIN and then tap OK
- 8. Select what notifications you would like displayed on the lock screen. In this example, we will select Do not show notifications
- 9. Tap Done
- 10. If you would like to add a fingerprint lock, tap Set Up. Otherwise, tap Later
- 11. Tap Secure Lock Settings
- 12. Tap Smart Lock
- 13. Enter your PIN and then tap Next
- 14. Tap Got It
- 15. Tap Trusted Devices
- 16. Tap Add Trusted Device
- 17. Tap Bluetooth or NFC. In this example, we will select BluetoothBluetooth must be turned on and you must be connected to the device you wish to use as a trusted device
- 18. Tap the device you wish to use
- 19. Tap Yes, Add
- 20. The phone will remain unlocked as long as the phone remains connected to the device
- 21. If you would like to manually lock the phone, press the Power/Lock Key
- 22. Tap the Lock icon
- 23. To unlock the phone, press the Power/Lock Key again
- 24. Swipe the lock icon upwards
- 25. Enter your PIN and then tap OK
