  • 1. Swipe down from the top of the screen
  • 2. Tap the Settings icon
  • 3. Scroll down and tap Lock Screen and Security
  • 4. Tap Screen Lock Type
    If you already have an unlock method set up, you will need to enter it now
  • 5. Tap PIN
  • 6. Enter a PIN and then tap Continue
  • 7. Re-enter the PIN and then tap OK
  • 8. Select what notifications you would like displayed on the lock screen. In this example, we will select Do not show notifications
  • 9. Tap Done
  • 10. Tap Secure Lock Settings
  • 11. Tap Smart Lock
  • 12. Enter your PIN and then tap Next
  • 13. Tap Trusted Places
  • 14. Tap OK
  • 15. Tap the location you wish to set as a trusted location. The Home and Work locations will be determined by Google Maps.
  • 16. Tap Turn on this location
  • 17. To add a trusted location, tap Add Trusted Place
  • 18. Tap the Search icon
  • 19. Enter the address you wish to add and then tap the Search icon
  • 20. Tap Select This Location to set it as a trusted location
  • 21. Tap OK
  • 22. As long as the phone remains within 80 metres of a trusted location, it will remain unlocked
  • 23. If you would like to manually lock the phone, press the Power/Lock Key
  • 24. To unlock the phone, press the Power/Lock Key again
  • 25. Swipe the lock icon upwards
  • 26. Enter your PIN and then tap OK
