  • 1. Swipe down from the top of the screen
  • 2. Tap the Settings icon
  • 3. Scroll down and tap Lock Screen and Security
  • 4. Tap Fingerprint
  • 5. Tap Add Fingerprint
  • 6. Tap Confirm
  • 7. Place your finger on the Home Key
  • 8. Continue placing your finger on the Home Key until it reaches 100%
  • 9. Enter a backup password and then tap Continue. This password is used in the case that your fingerprint isn't recognized
  • 10. Confirm your password and then tap OK
  • 11. Tap OK
  • 12. If you would like to add more fingerprints, tap Add Fingerprint
  • 13. If you would like to use your fingerprint to sign in to sites on the internet, tap the status switch beside Web Sign-In
  • 14. Tap OK
  • 15. You can use fingerprint sign in to verify your Samsung account and for paying with PayPal
  • 16. When the phone locks, press the Power/Lock Key to unlock it
  • 17. Place your finger on the Home Key and the phone will unlock
    If your fingerprint isn't recognized, tap Backup Password and enter your password
