  • The setup assistant launches the first time you turn the phone on and helps you get started with some of the fundamental features of the phone. Most sections have a Skip option so if you don’t want to use a certain feature, you can skip it
  • 1. Press and hold the Power/Lock Key to turn the phone on
  • 2. Scroll to your language and then tap the Next arrow
  • 3. To turn Wi-Fi on, tap the status switch
  • 4. Tap the network you would like to join
  • 5. If required, enter the network’s password and then tap Connect
  • 6. Tap Next
  • 7. Tap Next
  • 8. Tap Agree
  • 9. If you would like to transfer data from another phone, place it back-to-back with your new phone. Otherwise tap Skip
  • 10. Tap Enter Your Email
    If you do not have a Google account, tap Or create a new account to set one up
  • 11. Enter the email address associated with your Google account and then tap Next
  • 12. Enter your password and then tap Next
  • 13. Tap Accept
  • 14. If you would like to add a payment method, tap your desired option. Otherwise tap Remind Me Later
  • 15. Tap Next
  • 16. To set up the phone as new, tap Restore from this backup
  • 17. Tap Set up as new device
  • 18. Tap Done
  • 19. Tap Next
  • 20. To set up a screen lock, tap Set Screen Lock Now
  • 21. Tap your desired unlock method. In this example, we will select PIN
  • 22. Enter a PIN and then tap Done
  • 23. Re-enter your PIN and then tap Done
  • 24. Select what notifications you would like displayed on the lock screen. In this example, we will select Do not show notifications
  • 25. Tap Next
  • 26. Scroll down and tap Next
  • 27. If you would like to sign in to your Samsung account, tap Sign In, otherwise tap Skip
  • 28. Tap Skip
  • 29. Tap Finish
