  • Note: Using your phone as a portable Wi-Fi hotspot allows other devices to connect to your phone's cellular data via Wi-Fi. This may increase your battery and data usage
  • 1. From the home screen tap Settings

    Note: If the Settings icon has been removed from the home screen, you can access it by tapping the Menu key and then Settings
  • 2. Tap More Settings
  • 3. Tap Tethering and Portable Hotspot
  • 4. Tap the status switch beside Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot
  • 5. Tap OK
  • 6. Tap Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot
  • 7. Tap Configure
  • 8. Enter a name for the network. This is the name that other devices will see when searching for the network
  • 9. Tap Password
  • 10. Enter a password. This is the password that will need to be entered on other devices when connecting to your network
  • 11. Tap Save
  • 12. To deactivate a portable Wi-Fi hotspot, swipe down from the top of the screen
  • 13. Tap Tethering or Hotspot Active
  • 14. Tap the status switch beside Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot to deactivate it
