  • Smart Select allows you to extract parts of an image

  • 1.

    Open the image you wish to extract areas of

  • 2.

    Remove the S Pen from its holder by pushing it inwards and letting it pop out

  • 3.

    The S Pen menu will open automatically. If you already have taken the S Pen out, tap the S Pen icon. Tap Smart Select

  • 4.

    Tap Confirm

  • 5.

    Tap Rectangle

  • 6.

    Draw a rectangle around the area you wish to select

  • 7.

    Tap Auto Select

  • 8.

    The phone will assess the image and select the main subject of the photo

  • 9.

    Tap Save. The cut-out area of the image will be saved to your gallery
