Using Trusted Devices to Unlock Your Phone

Once you have added a trusted Bluetooth device, you can choose for your phone to remain unlocked while it is connected to that device.

Swipe down from the top of the screen with one finger

Tap the Settings icon
- 3.
Scroll down and tap Lock Screen
If you already have a secure lock type set up, you can skip to step 9
- 4.
Tap Screen Lock Type
- 5.
Tap the type of screen lock you would like to use. In this example, we will select PIN
- 6.
Enter a PIN and then tap Continue. The PIN must be between 4 and 16 digits
- 7.
Re-enter the PIN and then tap OK. This must match the PIN entered in the previous step
- 8.
Select your lock screen notification preferences and then tap Done
- 9.
Tap Smart Lock
- 10.
Enter your PIN and then tap Next
- 11.
Tap Got It
- 12.
Tap Trusted Devices
- 13.
Tap Add Trusted Device
- 14.
Tap the device you wish to use
Bluetooth must be turned on and connected to the device you wish to use

Tap Yes, Add
- 16.
Your phone will remain unlocked for as long as it is connected to the device
- 17.
To manually lock the phone, press the Power/Lock Key
- 18.
Press the Power/Lock Key again
- 19.
Tap the Lock icon
- 20.
To unlock the phone, press the Power/Lock Key
- 21.
Swipe the screen upwards
- 22.
Enter your PIN and then tap OK
