  • 1. Press and hold the Power/Lock Key
  • 2. Swipe up or down to select a language
  • 3. Tap Start
  • 4. To join a Wi-Fi network, tap the status switch
  • 5. Tap the network you wish to join
  • 6. If required, enter the network’s password and then tap Connect
  • 7. Tap Next
  • 8. Tap Agree to All
  • 9. Tap Next
  • 10. If you would like to copy your data from an existing device, tap Copy your Google Accounts…. In this example we will set the phone up as new by selecting No Thanks
  • 11. Tap Next
  • 12. Tap Email or Phone
    If you do not have a Google account, tap Or create a new account to set one up
  • 13. Enter the email address or phone number associated with your Google account and then tap Next
  • 14. Enter your password and then tap Next
  • 15. Tap Accept
  • 16. Select your preferences and then scroll down and tap Next
  • 17. If you would like to enter your payment information, select the method you would like to use. Otherwise tap No, thanks
  • 18. Tap Continue
  • 19. If you would like to add another email account, tap the type of account you wish to add. Otherwise, tap Not Now
  • 20. If you would like to set up an unlock method for your phone, tap your desired method. We will choose Set up PIN, pattern or password
  • 21. Tap Next
  • 22. Tap your preferred method. In this example we will select PIN
  • 23. Choose whether the PIN will be required when you turn your phone on and then tap Next
  • 24. Enter a PIN and then tap Done
  • 25. Re-enter the PIN and tap Done
  • 26. Select your lock screen notification preferences and then tap Next
  • 27. Tap Next
  • 28. If you would like to set up a fingerprint unlock, tap Set Up. We will do this later in the settings menu so in this example, we will choose Later
  • 29. Tap Next
  • 30. You can choose to restore your settings from a previous device. In this example, we will select Don’t Restore
  • 31. To sign in to your Samsung account, tap Email or phone number
    If you don’t have a Samsung account, tap Create Account to set one up
  • 32. Enter the email address or phone number associated with your account and then tap Next
  • 33. Enter your password and then tap Sign In
  • 34. If you would like to restore apps and data from an old device, tap Restore. Otherwise tap Later
  • 35. Scroll down and tap Finish
