    Swipe down from the top of the screen

    Tap the Settings icon

    Tap Security & Location

  • 4.

    Tap Fingerprint

  • 5.

    Tap Set Up Fingerprint

    Select your backup screen unlock method. In this example, we will select Fingerprint + PIN

  • 7.

    Enter a PIN and then tap Next

  • 8.

    Re-enter the PIN and then tap OK

  • 9.

    Select your lock screen notification preference and then tap Done

  • 10.

    Place a finger on the fingerprint sensor

  • 11.

    Tap Start

  • 12.

    Place a finger on the fingerprint sensor

  • 13.

    Lift and replace your finger until your fingerprint has been successfully read

  • 14.

    If you would like to add more fingerprints, tap Add Another. Otherwise tap Done

  • 15.

    Tap Fingerprint

  • 16.

    Enter your PIN and then tap the arrow

  • 17.

    To rename the fingerprint, tap Finger 1

  • 18.

    Enter a name for the finger and then tap OK

  • 19.

    To unlock your phone, place your finger on the fingerprint sensor
