  • 1. From the home screen, tap the Google folder
  • 2. Tap Hangouts
  • 3. Tap Next
  • 4. Tap Allow
  • 5. Tap the + icon
  • 6. Tap New Video Call
  • 7. Tap the contact you would like to start a Hangout with
    You can only video message contacts who are in your Google+ circles
  • 8. Tap the Video Call icon
  • 9. Tap Allow
  • 10. When the contacts answers the video call, their video will be displayed on screen and your video will be displayed in the bottom right of the screen
  • 11. To view video controls, tap the screen
  • 12. To mute the video call, tap the Mute icon
  • 13. Tap the Mute icon to unmute the call
  • 14. To stop your video, tap the Camcorder icon
  • 15. Tap the Camcorder icon again to resume showing your video
  • 16. To switch to the rear-facing camera, tap the front-facing camera icon
  • 17. To switch back to the front-facing camera, tap the rear-facing camera icon
  • 18. To send a message, tap the arrow beside the contact’s name
  • 19. Tap Write a Message
  • 20. Enter the text of the message and then tap the Send icon
  • 21. Tap Ongoing Call to return to the call
  • 22. Tap the End Call icon to finish the call
