  • 1. Swipe down from the top of the screen
  • 2. Tap the Settings icon
  • 3. Tap Display
  • 4. Tap Lock Screen

    If you already have an unlock method set up, you can skip to step 11

  • 5. Tap Select Screen Lock
  • 6. Tap your desired unlock method. In this example, we will select PIN
  • 7. Enter a PIN and then tap Next
  • 8. Re-enter the PIN and then tap OK
  • 9. Tap what kinds of notifications show on the lock screen. In this example, we will select Hide All Notifications
  • 10. Tap OK
  • 11. Tap Smart Lock
  • 12. Enter your PIN and then tap Next
  • 13. Tap Got It
  • 14. Tap Trusted Places
  • 15. Tap the location you wish to set as a trusted location. The Home and Work locations will be determined by Google Maps
  • 16. Tap Turn on this location
  • 17. Tap OK
  • 18. To add a trusted location, tap Add Trusted Place
  • 19. Tap the Search icon
  • 20. Enter the address you wish to add and then tap the Search icon
  • 21. Tap the address to set it as a trusted location
  • 22. Tap OK
  • 23. As long as the phone remains within 80 metres of a trusted location, it will remain unlocked
  • 24. If you would like to manually lock the phone, press the Power/Lock Key
  • 25. To unlock the phone, press the Power/Lock Key again
  • 26. Tap the Lock icon
  • 27. Enter your PIN and then tap OK
