  • In this example we will be using the Messaging app but these steps apply to any text entry screen

  • 1.

    Tap letters to enter text

  • 2.

    Tap the Space Bar to enter a space

  • 3.

    Double-tap the Space Bar to enter a period followed by a space

  • 4.

    Tap the Shift Key to enter an uppercase letter

  • 5.

    Double-tap the Shift Key to turn caps lock on

  • 6.

    Tap the Delete Key to delete text

  • 7.

    To enter an alternate character for a key, tap and hold on it

  • 8.

    Drag your finger over the character you wish to use and then lift your finger

  • 9.

    To view numbers and symbols, tap the Symbols key

  • 10.

    Tap the arrows to view additional symbols

  • 11.

    Tap ABC to return to the letters keyboard

  • 12.

    As you type, the keyboard will offer predictions for what it words it thinks you wish to use. Tap a word to use it
