  • These steps demonstrate how to send a text message to a number in your contacts or to a number you don’t have saved on your phone

    From the home screen, tap the Messages icon

  • 2.

    Tap Start Chat

  • 3.

    Tap the contact you would like to send the message to

  • 4.

    If the contact has more than one phone number, tap the number you wish to use

  • 5.

    To send a message to a number that isn’t in your contacts, tap the Keypad icon

  • 6.

    Enter the number and then tap Done

  • 7.

    Enter the text of your message and then tap the Send icon
