  • 1. From the home screen, tap Settings
  • 2. Tap Display
  • 3. Tap Lock Screen
  • 4. Tap Select Screen Lock
  • 5. Tap Fingerprints
  • 6. Tap Next
  • 7. Tap an unlock method for instances when your fingerprint can’t be read. In this example, we will select PIN
  • 8. Enter a PIN and then tap Next
  • 9. Confirm the PIN and then tap OK
  • 10. Select your lock screen notification settings and then tap OK
  • 11. Place your finger on the fingerprint sensor
  • 12. Lift your finger and place it back down on the sensor. Keep doing this until your fingerprint has been successfully read
  • 13. If you would like to add another fingerprint, tap Add More. Otherwise, tap OK
  • 14. To rename the fingerprint, tap Finger 1
  • 15. Enter a name for the fingerprint and then tap Save
  • 16. To unlock your phone, place your finger on the fingerprint sensor
