Using Trusted Devices to Unlock Your Phone

- 1. From the home screen, tap SettingsIf you already have an unlock method set up, you can skip to step 11
 - 2. Tap Display
 - 3. Tap Lock Screen
 - 4. Tap Select Screen Lock
 - 5. Select a screen unlock method for instances when your fingerprint can’t be read. In this example, we will select PIN
 - 6. Select whether a PIN is required to turn the phone on. We will select Require PIN to power on phone
 - 7. Tap Next
 - 8. Enter a PIN and then tap Next
 - 9. Confirm the PIN and then tap OK
 - 10. Select if you would like notifications displayed on the home screen. We will select Hide All Notifications
 - 11. Tap OK
 - 12. Tap Smart Lock
 - 13. Enter your PIN and then tap Next
 - 14. Tap Got It
 - 15. Tap Trusted Devices
 - 16. Tap Add Trusted Device
 - 17. Tap either Bluetooth or NFC. In this example, we will select BluetoothBluetooth must be turned on and you must be connected to the device you wish to use as a trusted device
 - 18. Tap the device you wish to use
 - 19. Tap Yes, Add
 - 20. The phone will remain unlocked as long as it remains connected to the device
 - 21. If you would like to manually lock the phone, press the Power/Lock Key
 - 22. Tap the Lock icon
 - 23. To unlock the phone, press the Power/Lock Key again
 - 24. Enter your PIN and then tap OK
