Using the Setup Assistant
Click each step to see the action, click the picture or use the arrow keys
The Setup Assistant will guide you through the setup process for your phone
- 1.
Press and hold the Power/Lock Key to turn the phone on
- 2.
Scroll to and tap the language you wish to use
- 3.
Tap Get Started
- 4.
If your selected language has multiple regions, tap the region you wish to use
- 5.
Tap Next
- 6.
Tap I Have carefully read and agree to the above terms
- 7.
Tap Next
- 8.
If you would like to import data from another phone, tap the type of device it is. In this example we will set the phone up as new by selecting Next
- 9.
To connect to Wi-Fi, tap the name of the network you wish to join
- 10.
If required, enter the network’s password and then tap Connect
- 11.
Tap Next
- 12.
To add your Google account, tap Email or Phone
If you do not have a Google account, you can tap Skip, or tap Create Accountto set one up
- 13.
Enter the email address or phone number associated with your Google account and then tap Next
- 14.
Enter your password and then tap Next
- 15.
Tap I Agree
- 16.
Scroll down and tap Accept
- 17.
To set up Google Assistant, tap Continue
- 18.

To set up an unlock method, tap the method you would like to use. In this example we will select Set Fingerprint ID
- 21.
Enter a PIN. The PIN is used in instances when your fingerprint can’t be read or additional verification is required
- 22.
Re-enter the PIN

Tap Add Fingerprint
- 24.
Place your finger on the fingerprint sensor
- 25.
Continue to lift and replace your finger
- 26.
Place the edges of your finger on the Fingerprint icon. Follow the instructions until your entire fingerprint has been read

Tap OK

If you would like to set up face unlock, tap Set Face Unlock. Otherwise, tap Skip
- 29.
If you would like to turn on enhanced service, tap Enable All Services. Enhanced services include Wi-Fi+ and Weather services

Tap Enable and Continue to turn on automatic software updates

To view a tutorial about navigating the phone using gestures, tap Try Gestures
- 32.
Swiping the screen inward from the left will return to the previous page
- 33.
Swiping the screen inward from the right will also return to the previous page
- 34.
Swiping up from the bottom of the screen will return to the home screen
- 35.
Swiping up from the bottom of the screen and holding for a second will open your recent apps list
- 36.
Select which style of navigation you would like to use. In this example, we will select Three-Key Navigation
- 37.
Tap Finish
