Using Trusted Places To Unlock The Phone

- Trusted places allows the phone to remain unlocked as long as it is in a trusted location
- 1. Swipe down from the top of the screen with one finger
- 2. Tap the Settings icon
- 3. Scroll down and tap SecurityIf you already have an unlock method set up you can skip to step 10
- 4. Tap Screen Lock
- 5. Tap your desired screen unlock method. In this example, we will select PIN
- 6. Enter a PIN and then tap Continue
- 7. Re-enter the PIN and then tap OK
- 8. Select your notification-display preference. In this example, we will select Hide sensitive notification content
- 9. Tap Done
- 10. Tap Smart Lock
- 11. Enter your PIN and then tap Next
- 12. Tap Trusted Places
- 13. You can select in which locations you would like the phone to remain unlocked. The Home and Work locations will be determined by Google Maps. Tap the status switch beside Home and/or Work to set that location as a trusted place
- 14. Tap OK
- 15. To set a different location as a trusted place, tap Add Trusted Place
- 16. Tap Search
- 17. Enter the address you would like to use and then tap Return
- 18. Tap the address at the bottom of the screen to set it as a trusted location
- 19. Tap OK
- 20. As long as you are within 80 metres of the set locations, your phone will remain unlocked
- 21. To manually lock the phone, press the Power/Lock Key
- 22. Press the Power/Lock Key again
- 23. Tap the Lock icon
- 24. Once you have locked the phone, to unlock it, press the Power/Lock Key
- 25. Drag the lock icon upwards
- 26. Enter your PIN and then tap OK
