Using the Setup Assistant
Click each step to see the action, click the picture or use the arrow keys
The Setup Assistant will guide you through the setup process for your phone
- 1.
Press and hold the Power/Lock Key to turn the phone on
- 2.
Tap the language
- 3.
Tap the language you wish to use
- 4.
Tap Start
- 5.
If you would like to connect to Wi-Fi, tap the network you wish to join
- 6.
If required, enter the network’s password and then tap Connect
- 7.
To copy data such as contacts, photos and apps from your Google account, tap Next. In this example, we will set the phone up as new and select Don’t Copy
- 8.
To add your Google account, tap Email or Phone
If you do not have a Google account, you can tap Skip, or tap Create Account to set one up
- 9.
Enter the email address or phone number associated with your Google account and then tap Next
- 10.
Enter your password and then tap Next
- 11.
Tap I Agree
- 12.
Read the terms of service and then tap Accept
- 13.
To setup fingerprint unlock, tap Next
- 14.
Enter a PIN and then tap Next. A PIN is required in instances when your fingerprint can’t be read or additional verification is required
- 15.
Re-enter the PIN and then tap Confirm
- 16.
Place a finger on the Fingerprint Sensor
- 17.
Lift and replace your finger until your fingerprint has been fully read
- 18.
If you would like to save more fingerprints, tap Add Another. Otherwise, tap Next
- 19.
Tap Continue to set up Google Assistant
- 20.
Tap I Agree to turn on Voice Match
- 21.
Tap Continue
- 22.
You can squeeze your phone to access Google Assistant. To set this up, tap Next
- 23.
Drag the slider to set how light or firm a squeeze is required
- 24.
Squeeze the bottom half of your phone from both sides
- 25.
Tap Next
- 26.
If you would like to set up Google Pay, tap Add a Card. Otherwise, tap Skip
- 27.
Tap Turn On to enable Always-on Display
- 28.
If you would like to set up additional features, tap on one of them. Otherwise, tap No Thanks
- 29.
Tap All Set to complete the setup process
