  • 1. Swipe down from the top of the screen with two fingers
  • 2. Tap the Settings icon
  • 3. Scroll down and tap Security
  • 4. Tap Screen Lock
    If you already have a PIN, Password or Pattern set up you can skip to step 12
  • 5. Tap PIN
  • 6. Select whether you would like a PIN to be required to start the phone. In this example, we will choose No thanks
  • 7. Tap Continue
  • 8. Enter a PIN and then tap Continue
  • 9. Re-enter the PIN and then tap OK
  • 10. Select what type of notifications you would like displayed on the lock screen. In this example, we will select Don’t show notifications at all
  • 11. Tap Done
  • 12. Tap Smart Lock
  • 13. Enter your PIN and then tap the arrow
  • 14. Tap Trusted Devices
  • 15. Tap Add Trusted Device
  • 16. Tap the type of device you would like to use. We will select Bluetooth
  • 17. Tap the device you wish to use
    Bluetooth must be turned on and you must be connected to the device you wish to use as a trusted device
  • 18. Tap Yes, Add
  • 19. The phone will remain unlocked as long as the phone remains connected to the device
  • 20. If you would like to manually lock the phone, press the Power/Lock Key twice
  • 21. Tap the lock icon. The phone will remain locked until you manually unlock it
  • 22. To unlock the phone, press the Power/Lock Key again
  • 23. Swipe the Lock icon upwards
  • 24. Enter your PIN and then tap the check mark
