Using Trusted Places to Unlock Your Phone

- 1. Swipe down from the top of the screen with two fingers
- 2. Tap the Settings icon
- 3. Scroll down and tap Security
- 4. Tap Screen LockIf you already have a PIN, Password or Pattern set up you can skip to step 12
- 5. Tap PIN
- 6. Select whether you would like a PIN to be required to start the phone. In this example, we will choose No thanks
- 7. Tap Continue
- 8. Enter a PIN and then tap Continue
- 9. Re-enter the PIN and then tap OK
- 10. Select what type of notifications you would like displayed on the lock screen. In this example, we will select Don’t show notifications at all
- 11. Tap Done
- 12. Tap Smart Lock
- 13. Enter your PIN and then tap the arrow
- 14. Tap Trusted Places
- 15. Tap the location you wish to set as a trusted location. The Home and Work locations will be determined by Google Maps.
- 16. Tap Turn on this location
- 17. Tap OK
- 18. To add a trusted location, tap Add Trusted Place
- 19. Tap the Search icon
- 20. Enter the address you wish to add and then tap the Search icon
- 21. Tap the address to set it as a trusted location
- 22. Tap OK
- 23. As long as the phone remains within 80 metres of a trusted location, it will remain unlocked
- 24. If you would like to manually lock the phone, press the Power/Lock Key twice
- 25. Tap the lock icon. The phone will remain locked until you manually unlock it
- 26. To unlock the phone, press the Power/Lock Key again
- 27. Swipe the Lock icon upwards
- 28. Enter your PIN and then tap the check mark
