Using the Fingerprint Sensor to Unlock the Phone

- 1. Swipe down from the top of the screen
- 2. Tap the Settings icon
- 3. Scroll down and tap Security
- 4. Tap Nexus Imprint
- 5. Tap Next
- 6. Tap your desired backup screen lock method. We will select Nexus Imprint + PIN
- 7. Select whether you would like a PIN to be required to start the phone. In this example, we will choose No thanks
- 8. Enter a PIN and then tap Continue
- 9. Re-enter the PIN and then tap OK
- 10. Select what type of notifications you would like displayed on the lock screen. In this example, we will select Don’t show notifications at all
- 11. Tap Done
- 12. Place a finger or thumb on the fingerprint sensor
- 13. Continue to lift and place your finger or thumb on the sensor until your fingerprint has been added
- 14. If you would like to add a second fingerprint, tap Add Another. Otherwise, tap Done
- 15. To rename the fingerprint, tap Nexus Imprint
- 16. Enter your PIN and then tap the arrow
- 17. Tap Finger 1
- 18. Enter a name for the finger and then tap OK
- 19. When your phone locks, place your finger on the fingerprint sensor to unlock it
