  • 1. Swipe down from the top of the screen
  • 2. Tap the Settings icon
  • 3. Scroll down and tap Security
  • 4. Tap Nexus Imprint
  • 5. Tap Next
  • 6. Tap your desired backup screen lock method. We will select Nexus Imprint + PIN
  • 7. Select whether you would like a PIN to be required to start the phone. In this example, we will choose No thanks
  • 8. Enter a PIN and then tap Continue
  • 9. Re-enter the PIN and then tap OK
  • 10. Select what type of notifications you would like displayed on the lock screen. In this example, we will select Don’t show notifications at all
  • 11. Tap Done
  • 12. Place a finger or thumb on the fingerprint sensor
  • 13. Continue to lift and place your finger or thumb on the sensor until your fingerprint has been added
  • 14. If you would like to add a second fingerprint, tap Add Another. Otherwise, tap Done
  • 15. To rename the fingerprint, tap Nexus Imprint
  • 16. Enter your PIN and then tap the arrow
  • 17. Tap Finger 1
  • 18. Enter a name for the finger and then tap OK
  • 19. When your phone locks, place your finger on the fingerprint sensor to unlock it
