  • 1. From the home screen, tap the Messages icon
  • 2. Tap Compose
  • 3. Tap Text Messages
  • 4. Enter the first few letters of the name of the contact you wish to send the message to and then tap the contact in the displayed list
  • 5. To send the message to a number that is not in your contacts, use the keyboard to enter the number and press Return
  • 6. Tap Enter a Message
  • 7. Enter the text of your message and then tap the Send icon
