1. From the home screen, tap Settings

2. Scroll down and tap Touch ID & Passcode

3. Tap Add a Fingerprint

4. Place a finger or thumb on the Home Button

5. Continue to lift and replace your finger on the Home Button until the entire fingerprint is filled in

6. Tap Continue

7. Adjust your grip and then place the same finger or thumb on the Home Button until the entire fingerprint is filled in

8. Tap Continue

9. A passcode is required in case Touch ID is not available. Enter a code now

10. Re-enter your code

11. If you would like to add more fingerprints, tap Add a Fingerprint and then repeat the process. You can add up to five fingerprints

12. To rename a fingerprint, tap Finger 1

13. Enter a name for the finger and then tap Done

14. If you would like to use Touch ID to be able to download content from the App Store and iTunes Store, tap the status switch beside App and iTunes Store

15. Enter your Apple ID password and then tap OK

16. To lock the phone, press the Sleep/Wake Button

17. To unlock the phone, press the Sleep/Wake Button

18. Press the Home Button and wait for the phone to unlock
