  • 1. From the home screen, tap Settings
  • 2. Scroll down and tap Touch ID & Passcode
  • 3. If you have set up a passcode, you will need to enter it now
  • 4. Tap Add a Fingerprint
  • 5. Place a finger or thumb on the Home Button
  • 6. Continue to lift and replace your finger on the Home Button until the entire fingerprint is filled in
  • 7. Tap Continue
  • 8. Adjust your grip and then place the same finger or thumb on the Home Button until the entire fingerprint is filled in
  • 9. Tap Continue
  • 10. If you would like to add more fingerprints, tap Add a Fingerprint and then repeat the process. You can add up to five fingerprints
  • 11. If you would like to use Touch ID to be able to download content from the App Store and iTunes Store, tap the status switch beside App and iTunes Store
  • 12. Enter your Apple ID password and then tap OK
  • 13. To lock the phone, press the Sleep/Wake Button
  • 14. To unlock the phone, press the Sleep/Wake Button
  • 15. Place your finger or thumb on the Home Button and wait for the phone to unlock
