Using Android Device Manager to Find, Lock and Wipe your Phone
Click each step to see the action, click the picture or use the arrow keys
- 1. From the home screen, tap Settings
- 2. Scroll down and tap Add Account
- 3. Tap Google
- 4. Tap Existing
Note: If you do not have a Google account, tap New to create one - 5. Tap Email
- 6. Enter your Gmail address and then tap Next
- 7. Enter your password and then tap Done
- 8. Tap OK
- 9. If you would like to add a credit card to your account, tap Set Up Credit Card. Otherwise tap Not Now
- 10. Tap the Arrow
- 11. Tap the Home Key
- 12. Tap the App Launcher
- 13. Tap Google Settings
- 14. Tap Location
- 15. Tap the box beside Access Location
- 16. Tap OK
- 17. Tap the Back Key
- 18. Tap Android Device Manager
- 19. Make sure the check box beside Remotely Lock This Device is checked
- 20. If you would like to be able to remotely reset your phone, tap the check box beside Allow Remote Factory Reset
- 21. Tap Activate
- 22. In the web browser of another device, go to www.google.com/android/devicemanager
- 23. Click the Email field
- 24. Enter your Google email address. This must be the same as the account you are signed in to on your phone
- 25. Click the Password field
- 26. Enter your password and then click Sign In
- 27. Your phone will be displayed on a map
- 28. To ring your device, click Ring
- 29. Click Ring
- 30. Your phone will ring at full volume for 5 minutes. Press the Power/Lock Key to stop the ringing
- 31. To lock your phone, click Lock
- 32. Enter a password and then click Confirm Password
- 33. Re-enter the password and then click Lock
- 34. To unlock your phone, press the Power/Lock Key
- 35. Enter the password you entered and then tap Done
- 36. To erase your phone, click Erase
- 37. Click Erase. This will perform a factory reset and will erase all data stored on it
