  • Fingerprint unlock uses your fingerprint to unlock the phone and to confirm your identity in certain apps or features. In some instances, your fingerprint cannot be used so you must also set up a PIN, password or pattern

    Swipe down from the top of the screen with two fingers

    Tap the Settings icon

  • 3.

    Scroll down and tap Security & Location

  • 4.

    Tap Fingerprint

  • 5.

    Tap Set Up

  • 6.

    Tap your backup screen lock method. In this example, we will select Fingerprint + PIN

  • 7.

    Enter a PIN and then tap Next. The PIN must be at least 4 digits long

  • 8.

    Re-enter your PIN and then tap Confirm

  • 9.

    Select your lock screen notification preference and then tap Done

  • 10.

    Place your finger on the fingerprint sensor

  • 11.

    Tap Start

  • 12.

    Place your finger on the fingerprint sensor

  • 13.

    Continue to lift and replace your finger, adjusting it’s position slightly each time, until your fingerprint has been fully read

    If you would like to add more fingerprints, tap Add Another. Otherwise, tap Done

  • 15.

    To rename the fingerprint, tap Fingerprint

  • 16.

    Enter your PIN and then tap the Arrow

  • 17.

    Tap Finger 1

  • 18.

    Enter a name for the fingerprint and then tap OK

    To unlock the phone, place your finger on the Fingerprint Sensor
